- problems of financing the state deficient and state debt,
- the structure and stability of state debt,
- instruments of managing state debt based on international and Russian experience

Main Research Themes
· Analysis of the structural and conjunctural components of the tax burden in the Russian economy.
· The development of a model to forecast tax bases and tax revenue according to basic taxes such as individual income tax, the unified social tax, income tax, and VAT.
· Evaluation of recent changes to the tax base on added value, including changes to margins of profit for the registration of enterprises by taxpayers.
· Forecasting the consequences of changes in excise taxation to the tobacco and alcohol markets.
· Analysis of world experience using excise taxes as an instrument to improve the quality of oil and gas production, and the use of ecological taxes and other methods of protecting the environment.
· Analysis of the tax burden during the implementation of a united agricultural tax (ESKhN).
· Means of improving the effectiveness of budgetary expenditures during periods of budgetary reform.

· Methods of analyzing the structure and conjunctural components of the tax burden in the Russian economy (АМР USA, 2008);
· Analysis and development of tax legislation and tax policy (Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, 2007);
· Development of a strategy for amending legislation to improve the taxation of agricultural production (Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, 2007);
· Forecasting the development of the Russian economy and its basic sectors until 2030, including regional issues (RAO "UES of Russia", 2007);
· The development of proposals for the adduction of provisions for the Future Generations Fund of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug in accordance with the budgetary legislation of the Russian Federation and methodological recommendations for investing these funds while achieving the effectiveness necessary to fulfill regular expenditure obligations (Department of Investments, Science and Technology of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, 2007);
· Development of strategies for the socio-economic development of Kostroma Oblast until 2030 (Administration of Kostroma Oblast, 2007); · Analyzing the success of the Government of the Russian Federation in 2007, and creating proposals to increase the effectiveness of subjects of budgetary planning in achieving goals of socio-economic development (Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, 2007).
