Additionally, the following trends in the development of the banking sector developed most visibly during the elapsed 12 months: retail market segments – retail loans and retail bank deposits – saw slowdown in growth rates; the role of state-run banks increased, especially in retail markets; banking sector’s profi tability was diluted, and the scale of refi nancing of banks increased to a level comparable with the crisis in 2009.
