The paper analyzed empirical studies describing this relationship and analyzed the relationship between countries' positions in international rankings and entrepreneurship development indicators based on three key rankings.In addition, the study determined how market potential, formal institutions, taxes, access to finance, regional policy instruments and digitalization affect the survival rate of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), analyzed the dynamics of the main indicators of SME development in Russia to assess the impact of the development of the SME sector in Russia.
