STEPAN ZEMTSOV: “IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, THERE ARE SIX INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS PER 10,000 WORKERS”

In Russia, the demand for industrial robots will persist for a very long time. This is what Stepan Zemtsov, senior researcher at the Gaidar Institute’s Innovation Economics Department, told the correspondent of IA REGNUM. This was his comment on the information that in Russia, due to the shortage of labor migrants, the demand for industrial robots had increased.

“In Russia, there are at least six industrial robots per 10,000 workers, which is generally below the global rate. That is why this country is going to display a high demand for robots for a long time. Moreover, this demand has been significantly boosted by the pandemic, because it reduced the migration flows. In terms of service robots, this country enjoys a particularly good position, while at present, industrial robots are for the most part imported: more than 90% are produced in the main by the world’s major giants (KUKA, FANUC, ABB),” Stepan Zemtsov explained.
