Aleksey Vedev: There Is No Point in Pumping New Mega-Money into the Economy

On 15 May, Director of the Structural Research Center of the Gaidar Institute Aleksey Vedev published an article in the Vedomosti newspaper.

The author presents his views on whether a further increase in investment and a more active stimulation of domestic demand may produce a noticeable positive effect on Russia's economic growth. Aleksey Vedev comes to the conclusion that, given the current state of the institutional environment and the current level of corruption, it will be pointless to pump huge financial resources into the economy, because only one out of every five rubles invested in the economy actually stimulates production growth. In the USA and China, this indicator is twice as high as that in Russia.
