Alexander Vladimirovich Maksimov has died (1933 – 2024)
It is with great sorrow that we inform you that Alexander Vladimirovich Maximov, retired Captain 1sr Rank, an employee of the Gaidar Institute and assistant to Yegor Timurovich Gaidar, has died after a serious illness.
Alexander Vldimirovich was born on March 22, 1933. He has graduated from the Moscow secondary school No. 354 in 1951. In the same year he entered the shipbuilding faculty of the F.E. Dzerzhinsky Leningrad Higher Naval Engineering School (VVMIU). In 1957, he started working at the Zhdanov Leningrad Shipbuilding Plant as a military representative.
In 1964 Alexander Vladimirovich received a military-diplomatic transfer to Moscow. He served in a number of European countries. He was honored with state awards, including the Order of the Red Star. He finished his military career in 1990, retiring in 1990 as Captain 1st Rank.
He worked in the First State Duma as an assistant deputy, engaged in lawmaking and human rights activities.
Working at the Institute for the Economy in Transition (now the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy), he assisted E.T. Gaidar in archival searches for materials and documents for scientific monographs.
A modest, responsive and benevolent man, an intellectual, impeccably precise in his work and in his relationships, he will forever remain in the memory of all who knew him.
Today, on December 9, his loved ones are seeing him off to his final resting place.
