Development of the Macroeconomic Forecasting Model and preparation of a long-term forecast of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation until 2035 (Russian Railways JSC, July-December 2019)

In July 2019, Gaidar Institute experts started developing the Macroeconomic Forecasting Model and preparing a long-term forecast of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation until 2035 under a contract with Russian Railways JSC.

Project’s objectives:

Develop a Macroeconomic Forecasting Model (hereinafter referred to as the Model) to generate forecasts of the development of the Russian economy and the subsequent use of the forecast results in financial and industrial activities of JSC Russian Railways, as well as provide training on how to use the Model.
Development of a long-term forecast of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation until 2035, which will be used in updating the Development Strategy of the Russian Railways Holding Company.

The project was completed by late December 2019.
