Irina Dezhina Receives the French Order of Academic Palms

By a decree of the French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Irina Dezhina, Doctor of Economics, leading researcher of the Social Services Department of the Gaidar Institute and head of the Research Group on Science and Industrial Policy at Skoltech Institute, has been awarded the Ordre des Palmes Academiques (Order of Academic Palms).

The Ordre des Palmes Academiques was established on 19 March 1808 by the Emperor Napoleon as an award for academicians and professors of Paris University and some lyceums. At present, the Ordre des Palmes Academiques can be awarded to both members of the teachers community and to persons not engaged in teaching who have made a considerable contribution to the field of education, as well as to foreign citizens and French expatriates who have actively promoted the proliferation of French culture abroad.
