Lora Nakoryakova took part in a discussion on real estate market regulation at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation
On October 14, Lora Nakoryakova, representative of the Center for Evidence-based Expertise of the Gaidar Institute, took part in a roundtable discussion “Debating Concepts of Regulation of Services in the Real Estate Market” at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI RF). The event was attended by State Duma deputies, representatives of real estate agencies, developers, public organizations, and notaries.
While discussing the issue of legislative regulation of the real estate services market, Lora Nakoryakova pointed out that when developing legislation, it is necessary to be guided by the principle of “do no harm”. And for this, in turn, it is important to understand how the market works. Currently, the Gaidar Institute's CEE is conducting a survey to find out how clients and realtors interact with each other, what difficulties people face when buying and selling housing, as well as how real estate agents' mistakes have affected people's further negative experiences, the expert said.
