Natalia Kornienko Took Part in the Conference on Issues of Interaction Between the Government and Businesses in the Framework of Modern Legislation

On 22 October, Senior Researcher of the Center for Macroeconomics and Finance, Candidate of Legal Sciences Natalia Kornienko delivered her report 'Protection of Trademark Rights in the Framework of the Customs Union' at the round table on "Soviet' trademarks held during the International Conference 'Government and Business in the System of Legal Coordinates'.
The conference was organized by the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation.


The participants in the round table discussed the following issues: is the procedure for establishing the right of prior use of Russian producers to 'Soviet' trademarks compatible with existing legislation of the Russian Federation; is the introduction of the right of prior use in respect of Soviet trademarks compatible with the international obligations assumed by the Russian Federation in the field of legal protection of intellectual rights, including the provisions of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property signed in Paris, France, on 20 March 1883, and of the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights signed on 15 April 1994.
