Sergei Prikhodko took part in the annual Gaidar-Naumann Forum

On 24 November, Sergei Prikhodko, Executive Director took part in the annual 2016 Gaidar-Naumann Forum: Russia, Germany and Eastern Europe: Relations in the Transformation Period which was held in Berlin.


This year, the Gaidar-Naumann Forum coincides with the 25th anniversary of the reforms in Germany, Eastern Europe and Russia. For the first time, prominent European reformers, as well as heads of various institutes and funds from Eastern Europe carrying out research into social and economic issues of development of Eastern Europe and its role in the European Union and cooperation with Russia were invited to take part in conference.


In 2016, participants in the Gaidar-Naumann Forum included Leszek Balcerowicz, Polish economist and the architect of the reforms, Karl Heinz Pake, Former Minister of Economy of Saxony-Anhalt Bundesland, Michael Harms, Director of the Eastern Committee on the German Economy, Yevgeny Yasin, Academic Advisor of the Higher School of Economics, Andrei Nechayev, Former Minister of Economy and many other. The speakers’ reports were dedicated to assessment of efficiency of social and economic transformations which took place in Germany, Eastern Europe and Russia in the 1990–2000 period, as well as comprehension of fast-moving processes that form new European reality.
