Sergey Drobyshevsky: “The peak of annual inflation in Russia will be in March-April”

The expert recalled that in 2024, a noticeable acceleration of inflation began closer to summer, so the peak of inflation this year will be in March-April. «At the moment, we can say that the Central Bank of Russia has managed to largely bring inflation under control — unlike in the second half of 2024, inflation is steadily reacting by slowing down to the retention of a high key rate, while last year we even saw its acceleration immediately after decisions to raise the rate. In addition, according to the surveys, inflation expectations of economic agents have stabilized," the Gaidar Institute expert pointed out.
