On March 1, at a meeting on climate change issues, Senior Researcher of the Gaidar Institute's Innovation Economics Department Stepan Zemtsov delivered a presentation titled Hazardous Hydrological Phenomena and Social Vulnerability in Russia.

On 25 February, leading researcher at the Social Services Department Irina Dezhina spoke at the 58th Annual Convention of the International Studies Association (ISA) in Baltimore, USA, with the report “Research and Innovation Policy in Russia: Dynamic Process, Invariable Results?”

On February 28, Novaya Gazeta published an interview with Ivan Lyubimov, Senior Researcher at the Gaidar Institute, in which he discussed the issue of inequality in Russia.

On 21 February, Head of Gaidar Institute’s Business Surveys Laboratory Sergey Tsukhlo reviewed, in his interview for Radio Liberty, the effect of rouble exchange rate fluctuations on Russia’s industry.

On 16 February, senior researcher at the Innovation Economy Department Stepan Zemtsov spoke at the II International Conference “The Arctic: Offshore Projects and Sustainable Regional Development”. His report was titled “Innovation Potential and Developing High Technologies in Russian Arctic Zone.”

On 15 February, the head of  Gaidar Institute legal department Irina Tolmacheva took part in the meeting “Risks for NGOs when Engaging in Public Activities.”

Monitoring of Russia’s Economic Outlook. Trends and Challenges of Socio-Economic Development (MREO) No. 3(41) 3(41) was released in February 2017. The MREO covers prevailing trends and changes in Russia’s economy.

On 17 February 2017, Yekaterinburg hosted Gaidar Readings – Regional financial systems amid crysis: Regional budgets and banks of the Urals Federal Okrug – held under the auspices of the Gaidar Institute, the Urals Institute of Administration (a RANEPA branch), and the Yegor Gaidar Fund.

On 6 February, senior researcher at the Center for Political Economy and Regional Development Konstantin Kazenin spoke at the international workshop “The Fertility of Migrants and Minorities” held at the University of Hannover (Germany). His report was titled “Fertility of Muslim Minorities in Russia: Individual vs. Community Effects.”

Issue No. 2(40), 2017 of the analytical review "Monitoring of Russia’s Economic Outlook. Trends and challenges of social and economic development" is now published online. It follows current trends and changes in the Russian economy.

On 24 January, the macroeconomic forecast of Russia’s economic development for 2017–2018 prepared by experts from  Gaidar Institute and RANEPA was presented at the press conference at TASS news agency.

Issue No.1(39), 2017 of the analytical review – The Monitoring of Russia’s Economic Outlook. Trends and Challenges of the Social and Economic Development – was published. The goal of the above review is to follow current trends and changes in the Russian economy.

The third day of  Gaidar Forum was dedicated, in particular, to present-day economic issues: new approaches to development of regions, modern models in education and the specifics of management amid fast changes.

On January 13, representatives of the Russian authorities and foreign experts continued their discussion of the prospects of development of the Russian economy.

On January 12, 2017, the Gaidar Forum – Russia and the World: Setting Priorities – sponsored by the Gaidar Institute, the RANEPA and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) opened in Moscow.

On 27 December, Vedomosti published the article written by  Gaidar Institute’s Head of the Foreign Trade Department Alexander Knobel and Academic Director Sergey Sinelnikov-Murylev – "Openness as a growth factor."
