Issue No.16(34), 2016 of the analytical review – The Monitoring of Russia’s Economic Outlook. Trends and Challenges of the Social and Economic Development – was published. The goal of the above review is to follow current trends and changes in the Russian economy.

NBER released a paper by Head of the International Fiscal Sustainability Department Laurence J. Kotlikoff, Head of the Center for Economic Modeling Andrey Polbin, and Senior Researcher of the RANEPA Andrey Zubarev, titled Will the Paris Accord Accelerate Climate Change?. The paper addresses the mechanisms for reducing carbon dioxide emissions and the resulting negative environmental effects.

On October 14, Forbes.ru published an article by researcher Evgeny Goryunov Agency Relationship and Incomplete Contracts. Now to Make Profitable Deals, where he explains why the authors of contract theory were awarded the Nobel Prize.

The Analytical Center Observo under the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry released its Yearbook Russia 2016, which incorporates an article by Head of the Business Surveys Department of the IEP Sergey Tsukhlo Import Substitution: Myths and Reality.

On 12 October, Natalia Kornienko, Head of the Tax System Development Department took part in the meeting of the board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

On 10 October, in  an interview to the RSN radio station Euvgeny Goryunov discussed the contribution by Nobel prizewinners Oliver Hart, Professor of Economics of the Harvard University and Bengt Holmstyom, Professor of Economics of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to development of the contract theory.

On 3 October 2016, a press-conference dedicated to presentation of the latest issue of the analytical review: Monitoring of Russia’s Economic Outlook. Trends and Challenges of Socio-Economic Development was held at the TASS News Agency.

Weak institutions as the Cause of Policy Failure" by Ivan Lyubimov, Senior Researcher dedicated to the analysis of the need of consistent implementation of institutional reforms.

On 28 September, Director of the Center for Structural Research, Mikhail Khromov, participated in the RBC-TV program “Bogdanov is aware” where they discussed the impact of the Ruble’s strengthening on the economic growth.

On 26 September, the Institute for Economies in Transition of the Bank of Findland published research: “Corrupt Bureaucrats, Bad Managers, and the Slow Race Between Education and Technology” by Ivan Lyubimov, Senior Researcher dedicated to the analysis of the impact of institutional limitations on the quality of human capital.
