On 23 December, Head of  Gaidar Institute’s Department of Structural Research Mikhail Khromov was interviewed on Radio Liberty where he spoke about the rate of inflation in the outgoing year.

Issue No.20(38), 2016 of the analytical review – The Monitoring of Russia’s Economic Outlook. Trends and Challenges of the Social and Economic Development – was published. The goal of the above review is to follow current trends and changes in the Russian economy.

On 20 December, the newspaper Vedomosti published the article by Ivan Lyubimov, senior researcher at the Gaidar Institute. In the article, “Social mobility for the human capital”, the author talks about the impact of the human capital quality on the development of the country as a whole.

On 14 December 2016, Sergei Tsukhlo spoke at the V Conference “Economic Situation in Russia: Expectations, Forecasts, Prospects” organized by the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His report was entitled “Russian industry in 2015–2016. Was there a crisis?..”

Ivan Lyubimov, senior researcher at  Gaidar Institute, was interviewed at Radio Liberty. In the interview, titled "Without oil, cash registers and steering wheels" the economist speaks about dangers of rapid technological development for a developing economy.

On 6 December 2016, the conference – Islam in the Modern World: Looking for Analytical Approaches -- was held at the Gaidar institute.

 Gaidar Readings – The Experience of Domestic Market-Oriented Regional Development: Advantages and Disadvantage – sponsored by the Gaidar Institute, the Gaidar Fund and the RANEPA’s Kaluga Branch under the auspices of the Government of the Kaluga Region were held in Kaluga on 5 December.

On 1–2 December, Sergei Prikhodko, Executive Director of  Gaidar Institute took part in the international conference: Upgrading of State Finance Management Efficiency and Its Effect on Sustained Economic Development in Tajikistan which was held in Dushanbe.

Books by  Gaidar Institute’s publishing house are presented at the Non/FictionNo18 International Fair (booth K-4) which is held on 30 November-4 December 2016.

On 30 November, the Vedomosti daily carried an article: “Who Needs Barriers” by Alexander Knobel, Head of the Foreign Trade Department. The article deals with processes of the Eurasian economic integration.

On 28 November, This is Caucasus Web-site carried an interview by Irina Starodubrovskaya, Head of the Center for Political Economy and Regional Development. The interview was dedicated to the outputs of the research carried out jointly by  Gaidar Institute and the RANEPA’s Center for Regional and Urban Studies into the values of Dagestan’s mainstream society.

On 24 November, Irina Tolmacheva, Head of the Legal Department took part in the meeting dedicated to the legislation on non-profit organizations.

On 24 November, Sergei Prikhodko, Executive Director took part in the annual 2016 Gaidar-Naumann Forum: Russia, Germany and Eastern Europe: Relations in the Transformation Period which was held in Berlin.

On 23 November, Dergei Zhavoronkov, Senior Researcher took part in the program: Levchenko. Rakurs on the RBK-TV in which the issue whether Ukraine could expect renewal of economic growth amid domestic and external challenges was discussed.

Gaidar Institute and the RANEPA have prepared their findings on the federal draft law on the Federal Budget for 2017 and the 2018-2019 Planning Period.
