Issue No.5(23), 2016 of the analytical review – The Online Monitoring of Russia’s Economic Outlook. Trends and Challenges of the Social and Economic Development – was published. The goal of the above review is to follow current trends and changes in the Russian economy.

On 1 April 2016, a report : North Caucasus and the Modern Model of Democratic Development prepared by Irina Starodubrovskaya, Head of the Center for Political Economy and Democratic Development and Konstantin Kazenin, Senior Researcher was presented to the Committee of Civil Initiatives.

On 31 March, Yuri Zaitsev, Senior Researcher took part in the FINAM online-conference: Russian Economy: Expectations and Reality at which participants discussed the existing economic situation in Russia and the prospects of exit from the crisis.

On 29 March 2016, Natalia Kornienko, Head of the Tax System Development Department took part in a meeting of the FBK Economic Club dedicated to the topic: Taxes: Will Economy Sustain?. During the debates, experts assessed the fiscal burden on business in Russia and exchanged views on the prospects of reduction thereof.

On 29 March 2016, Ivan Lyubimov, Senior Researcher held a seminar: Substandard Institutions and the Race between Education and Technologies at the Bank of Finland. The issue of selection of correct key reforms was discussed at the seminar.

On 28 March 2016, the Vedomosti daily carried an article – Our Simple Tasks -- by Ivan Lyubimov, Senior Researcher in which efficiency of investments for Russia’s economic growth is discussed.

On 19 March, Irina Dezhina, Leading Researcher of the Social Services Department delivered the report: The Russian-Speaking Research Expat Community: Experience and Motivation for Cooperation at the 57th Annual International Research Association which was held in Atlanta (USA).

On 18 March, Sergei Tsukhlo, Head of the Business Survey Department gave an interview to the Radio Liberty in which he explained factors behind sudden growth in the industrial optimism index in March.

On 19 March, Yegor Timurovich Gaidar, founder and director of the Institute for Economic Policy would have reached the age of sixty.

On 15 March, the online Slon.ru magazine carried an article : “Not on the Right Place. How a Crowding-Out Effect Slows Down the Economy” by Ivan Lyubimov, Senior Researcher in which the author elaborates on the consequences of the technological progress for the labor market.

On 25 February 2016, Irina Dezhina, Leading Researcher of the Social Services Department delivered the report “Prospects of Development of Cooperation with Russian-language Scientists Abroad” at the round table: Russia’s International Cooperation in Science and Education sponsored by the Russian Council for International Affairs.

On 25 February 2016, Sergei Zhavoronkov took part in the Pravo Golosa program on the TVC in which the economic crisis in Russia was discussed.

On 19 February, the Vedomosti daily carried an article: The Eurasian Union and the SCO: In Search of Points of Growth by А. Knobel, Head of the International Trade Department. The article deals with integration options for Russia amid present-day internal and external political limitations.
