Day 2 of the Gaidar Forum 2015 was opened by the panel discussion titled The Real Sector of the Economy: A Way to Efficiency; its moderator was Chairman of the RF State Duma Sergey Naryshkin.

A panel discussion titled A Healthy Future Economy was held in the morning of Day 1 of the Gaidar Forum 2015; it was moderated by Chief Researcher of the Center for Macroeconomics and Finance of the Gaidar Institute Alexei Kudrin. The participants in the discussion raised some important economic and social policy issues: the problems of budgeting, including the need for an efficient structure of budget expenditure; human capital; and healthy population. The discussion was joined by the following leading experts and representatives of the socioeconomic bloc in the RF government: President and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref; Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Aleksey Ulyukayev; Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov; Thomas D. Cabot Professor of Public Policy and Professor of Economics at Harvard University Kenneth Rogoff; Deputy Prime Minister on Social Issues of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets; and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Danone Emmanuel Faber.

On 22 December, Senior Researcher of the IEP Sergey Zhavoronkov took part in the Stolitsa FM Radio Station's program Podrobnosti [In Detail]; in his interview, he emphasized that the downward trend in Russia's economy had already been evident towards the end of last year, whilst Russia's confrontation with the developed countries led to further aggravation of the situation.

On December 19, 2014, the first meeting of the Academy Debate Club was held; it was dedicated to economic challenges Russia would face in 2015.

On December 18-19, 2014, the Final Gaidar Readings-2014 dedicated to the treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union which becomes effective from January1, 2015 were held.

On 16 December, Sergei Tsukhlo, Head of the Business Surveys Department gave an interview to the Kommersant FM radio station. The interview was dedicated to the effects of dramatic depreciation of the national currency on the Russian industry.

On 11 December, Sergei Tsukhlo, Head of the Business Surveys Department delivered a report at the business breakfast which was held by the Promsvyazbank and the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation where a new research project – PSB Small Business Index (PSBI Index) – was presented.

On 2 December, representatives of the Gaidar Institute – Senior Researcher Natalia Kornienko, Senior Researcher Svetlana Guliaeva and Junior Researcher Yelisey Leonov took part in a session of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, held to discuss the results of its public expert examination of draft Federal Law No 606211-6 'On the Introduction of Alterations to Some Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation in the Part of State Price Regulation for Tobacco Products'.

On 2 December, Forbes.ru published an article on the issues of transit of EU commodities through Russia's territory, written by the Gaidar Institute's Head of International Trade Department Alexander Knobel.

On 16 November, Senior Researcher Sergey Zhavoronkov took part in the Public Television of Russia's (OTV Russia's) talk show Prav?da! [Right? Yes!]. The show addressed the issue of balancing the RF budget in a situation of plummeting oil prices.

On 27 November, Senior Researcher Natalia Kornienko acted as moderator at the Round Table 'Important Issues of Indirect Taxation' in the framework of 10th Russian Tax Forum "Tax Maneuver-2014: A View of Business and Government", held by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

The presentation of the book Letters : 1925-1975. Martin Heidegger and Hannah Arendt, published by the Gaidar Institute, will be held at 1.pm on 28 November at the Central House of Artists in Krymskiy val (Seminar Zone No 2, Room 17) as part of the discussion 'Martin Heidegger's Black Notebooks. Philosophy's Dark Side', held in the framework of the 16th International Fair of Intellectual Literature Non/fiction.

Gaidar Institute's senior researcher Yekaterina Pospelova's article was published on November 24 on Forbes.ru, in which the author presents analysis of the fiscal burden on entrepreneurs from a new sales tax to take effect in July 2015 in the cities of federal importance in Russia.

On November 17, Director of Gaidar Institute's Center for Structural Research Mikhail Khromov gave interview to the RBK-TV on the subject of import substitution.

Gaidar Institute's reasearcher Anna Kiyutsevskaya's article was published on November 18 on the Banki.ru portal, in which the author presents analysis of a new version of "The Guidelines for the Single Monetary Policy in 2015 and for 2016 and 2017" developed by the Central Bank of Russia.

Gaidar Institute's senior researcher Ivan Lyubimov's article was published by Forbes on November 17, in which the author presents a comparative analysis of the history of devaluation of the national currency in Russia, Mexico and Argentina.
